Our Story

Building practical technology for reentry and workforce development from lived experience and technical expertise.

The Infrastructure Gap

Evergreen Resource Solutions was founded to address a systemic gap in reentry and workforce technology: tools designed for compliance and reporting, rather than real outcomes for people returning home from incarceration.

After nearly 12 years of incarceration, I returned home in 2024 with real work experience, technical skills, and leadership training gained through prison industries and institutional work programs. Yet when attempting to reenter the workforce, that experience did not translate into language employers understood.

"Canteen Operator" didn't convey that I served 100+ customers daily while maintaining inventory and customer satisfaction. "Maintenance crew" didn't show I maintained critical infrastructure. The system had given me real skills, but no way to communicate them.

This disconnect is not an individual failure it is an infrastructure failure.

Existing reentry systems rely heavily on manual processes, spreadsheets, and fragmented tools that place additional burden on case managers while limiting the ability of returning citizens to present themselves competitively in the labor market.

Building From Lived Experience

Evergreen Resource Solutions is built by someone who has navigated reentry firsthand not as an observer, but as a participant.

During incarceration, I pursued education and skill development wherever available. After release, I experienced the complexity of reentry directly: housing instability, workforce barriers, and the challenge of navigating systems not designed for people in transition.

These experiences shaped a clear design philosophy:

Reentry technology must be simple, mobile-friendly, forgiving of real-world constraints, and built for people with limited time, bandwidth, and digital access.

This is not theoretical. Every product decision is informed by direct experience with the barriers, frustrations, and gaps that exist in current systems.

Progress & Direction

Since my release, the founder has:

  • Formed Evergreen Supply Solutions LLC (New Jersey SBE-certified)
  • Conducted market validation with reentry programs, workforce agencies, and returning citizens
  • Begun development of two complementary reentry technology products
  • Initiated engagement with county-level partners and NJLEAD-aligned organizations

The company's near-term focus is piloting in New Jersey, refining products based on agency feedback, and preparing for responsible multi-county expansion.

Vision

Our long-term goal is to ensure that every person returning home from incarceration has access to technology that supports successful reintegration, and that agencies have tools that improve outcomes while lowering operational strain.

Evergreen Resource Solutions is not a nonprofit — it is a mission-driven, sustainable business built to deliver measurable impact at scale.

We are building infrastructure that respects the dignity of individuals while providing agencies with the tools they need to deliver better outcomes. This is a long-term commitment to solving real problems with honest, effective technology.
